ABOUT US
The Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs
CARE: The Charity for Addiction, Recovery and Empowerment
The Council was founded in 1971, with the aims of promoting healthier lifestyles and providing support for individuals and families affected by substance misuse, or other harmful behaviours.
The Council also advocates for policy changes and works with various stakeholders to improve services and support for those affected by addiction.
The Council now hosts The Living Room, a community-based recovery centre that has an “all addictions” approach which offers ongoing support and aftercare to those affected by addiction, their families and friends: Cynnal, the counselling service for clergy, ministers of religion, Christian workers, and their families; and A Room to Live, an online, virtual Living Room, which is in development and will be accessible throughout the world, and in every language.
A ROOM TO LIVE
This project aims to develop an online platform for counselling and therapy services – available in every language and throughout the world.
OUR OBJECTIVES
